Every deployment gets an HTTPS hostname with its certificate, per-service DNS names, generated passwords and a readiness check before the console calls it done. For Nextcloud, on top of that:

They price the person. We price the server. Dropbox Standard charges $15 to $18 per user a month, so two people already cost more than this whole server. Add twenty people here and the bill does not move.

Nextcloud hosting providers compared
Nextcloud GmbH does not host. Its Enterprise subscription starts at 100 users. Hosted Nextcloud comes from partners such as epiKshare GmbH (which runs Nextcloud One) and is usually priced per person. The other route is a VPS you run yourself. Here you pay for the server, whatever the headcount.

When Nextcloud One is the better choice
If you want someone to administer Nextcloud itself, not just the server, Nextcloud One does that and includes 500 GB to 1 TB of storage. If that is what you need, it is the better fit.
Notes
Nextcloud hosting limits to plan around
- One server, one disk, sized at creation. No replication or failover. The disk is not expanded in place, so pick the size you will grow into. Growing means a new project and a data move.
- Email, office editing and antivirus are yours to add. Outbound email is off until you enter a mail provider in Nextcloud's settings. Collabora, OnlyOffice, ClamAV and external storage are not part of this template.
- Upgrades are yours. One major version at a time, each with a database migration that cannot be reversed.

Backups are whole-server images: Nextcloud, its PostgreSQL database and every file in one image, so a restore never leaves the files and the database out of step. They run daily and keep the last seven for 20% of the server price. You turn them on per project.

Can I run Nextcloud on a VPS instead?
Yes. On a raw VPS or an on-premise server you install Docker, a reverse proxy and certificates, then PostgreSQL, Redis and Nextcloud's trusted domain settings. Then you keep all of it running. Here that stack arrives set up on a dedicated server. You still get root SSH access to it.
What happens to my files if my credit balance reaches zero?
With a card on file or a past top-up, the server is powered off first and held for 24 hours; adding credit in that window restarts it. Welcome-credit-only servers are deleted at zero. We email you either way. A deleted server takes its backup images with it, so keep a sync client or an export somewhere else.
