Your domain and Mautic's site URL
Mautic writes its site URL into its configuration when the installer runs. When you add your own domain later, change the site URL in Mautic's configuration too. Otherwise links in emails keep the old address.

Mautic hosting requirements here come from running four containers, not one PHP site. The web app, cron, the queue worker and MySQL share one server, so 8 GB is the size we recommend and the console defaults to it. Guides quoting 2 GB describe a single LAMP install without the worker.

Finish the installer right after deploying
Open Mautic on the address the console shows. The database step is already filled in. Whoever finishes the installer first becomes the administrator, so do it before you share the address.

Add your domain and your email sender
Add your domain, then set it as the site URL in Mautic's configuration. Connect the provider you send email through. Cron and the worker are already running, so campaigns move as soon as you build them.

If your balance reaches zero
A server with a card on file or a past top-up is powered off and kept for 24 hours, then deleted with its backups. We email you. A top-up in that window restarts it. Welcome-credit-only servers are deleted at zero, contacts included.

Mautic cloud, managed Mautic or your own server
There is no official Mautic cloud. The project sells no hosting and sends people to partners, whose managed Mautic plans run the application for you and cap contacts and sends. Hosting it yourself means Mautic on a server of your own, where the bill is the server.

What the platform checks on every Mautic server
- Every service is health-checked every 60 seconds, on every server.
- A stalled deploy is retried automatically, not abandoned.
- A deploy is never reported done until the URL answers.
- Your version stays put. A restart or redeploy brings back the same build of Mautic 7.2.0 and MySQL 8.4.11.
- The database step is pre-filled. Mautic's installer starts with its MySQL connection already set.

Notes
Mautic hosting limitations
- No email until you connect a sender. Mautic sends through a provider you add in its settings. The sender reputation is yours to build and keep.
- One worker container on one server. Queue consumers share this server with Mautic and MySQL; large campaigns can need more capacity.
- The bundled MySQL is not a Managed Database. It is a container on the project server with no point in time recovery, pooling or Multi-AZ. Managed MySQL is a separate managed service.

Mautic backup and restore
Mautic backup works at two levels here. The server can take an optional daily image of everything on it, MySQL and the media volumes included. Inside Mautic, contacts export to a file you keep anywhere. A full MySQL dump needs container access over SSH, granted on request.

Frequently asked questions
How do I self host Mautic?
Mautic needs PHP, a web server, MySQL, scheduled cron jobs and a queue worker. You can install those on a server yourself or deploy this template, which runs all four parts as containers. Either way you finish Mautic's web installer, become its administrator and connect an email sender before the first campaign.
Does Mautic need cron jobs?
Yes. Without cron, segments stop rebuilding and campaigns stop moving contacts on. Here a cron container runs segment updates, campaign updates and campaign triggers every 15 minutes, starting once the installer finishes. A separate worker processes the queue, so there is no crontab or supervisor to configure.
Can I run Mautic with WordPress?
Yes, as two deployments. Run Mautic from this template and WordPress from ours. They can share a project server when it has capacity, with a separate address for each app. Mautic's WordPress plugin then adds the tracking script and forms to your site. Contacts and campaigns stay in Mautic; pages and posts stay in WordPress.
Is there a Mautic MCP server?
Selfhost.dev's MCP server lets an AI assistant work on the server that runs Mautic: add a domain, read the server's status and check its metrics. It does not reach inside Mautic, so contacts, segments and campaigns stay in Mautic's own interface and API.
